1. THREE FIRM ATTORNEYS RECOGNIZED BY SUPER LAWYERS IN 2017

Super Lawyers has named Seth Harris a Super Lawyer in the area of Personal Injury for the 10th consecutive year. Super Lawyers has also named Blake Goldfarb and Alison Keenan as 2017 “Rising Stars”. Candidates for this honor must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less, and it is presented to no more than 2.5 percent of all attorneys in the state. Blake has previously been included on the Super Lawyers’ list.

5. SETH HARRIS IS AWARDED HIGH ETHICAL STANDING STATUS BY MARTINDALE-HUBBELL 2017

Martindale-Hubbell has recognized Seth Harris as Distinguished in 2017 which awards him with a High Ethical Standing. Seth’s peers rated him as a High Professional Achiever. He was rated similarly in 2016.

6. NY’S LARGEST VERDICTS IN 2010 – NO FIRM WAS RECOGNIZED FOR HAVING MORE THAN BURNS & HARRIS

In Verdicts Search’s Top NY Verdicts of 2010 annual report, two of the highlighted verdicts were obtained by Burns & Harris – no firm was recognized for having more of NY’s largest verdicts in 2010 than Burns & Harris. The two jury verdicts total over $30 million and both are among the top 30 highest in the state in 2010. The firm also had an additional 7 verdicts totaling an additional $7.2 million that made the list related to top verdicts in the following categories: Government, Intentional Torts, Medical Malpractice, Premises Liability, and Negligence.The two verdicts demonstrate Burns & Harris’ continued ability to win significant verdicts at trial year after year. The 2010 verdicts include a $17.5 million jury verdict in a case arising from the violation of a prisoner’s civil rights; Diabetic prisoner didn’t receive insulin, suffered brain damage (Vargas v. City of New York); and a $12.5 million verdict for an injured construction worker; Laborer hit by falling piece of scaffold, alleged disabling injury (Griffin v. 7. BURNS & HARRIS BEATS OUT LAST YEAR’S NUMBER OF TOP NY VERDICTS BY CATEGORY

In Verdicts Search’s Top NY Verdicts of 2011 annual report, Burns & Harris won fourteen (14) of the
highlighted verdicts. The fourteen jury verdicts totaled over $7.9 million and were among the top verdicts by category in 2011. The verdicts were regarding cases involving Construction Accidents, Government, Intentional Torts, Motor Vehicle Accidents (Bus), Motor Vehicle Accident (Pedestrian), Negligence, and Premises Liability. Three of these verdicts resulted in over $1 million and continues to demonstrate Burns & Harris’ continued ability to win significant verdicts at trial year after year. The 2011 verdicts include a $1.2 million jury verdict in a case arising from a construction worker that claimed a foreign object permanently damaged his eye (Vassell v. Lexington Hotel, LLC); a $1.3 million jury verdict caused by an allegedly negligent repair by the utility company that damaged a sidewalk during work (Roimesher v. 770 Lexington Assocs. Inc.); and a $2.6 million verdict caused by a negligent maintenance-trash a recurrent problem on subway station’s stair (Molina v. In Verdicts Search’s Top NY Verdicts of 2012 annual report, Burns & Harris won thirteen (13) of the highlighted verdicts. The thirteen jury verdicts totaled over $8.9 million and were among the top verdicts by category in 2012. The verdicts were regarding cases involving Construction Accidents, Medical Malpractice (Surgery), Intentional Torts,Motor Vehicle Accidents (Roadway Defects), Motor Vehicle Accident (Pedestrian), Premises Liability (Negligent Repair/Maintenance), and Premises Liability (Sidewalk Defects). Two of these verdicts resulted in over $1 million and continues to demonstrate Burns & Harris’ continued ability to win significant verdicts at trial year after year. The 2012 verdicts include a $4 million jury verdict in a case arising from a False Arrest that the arrestee claimed police officers were needlessly rough (Cardoza v. City of New York); and a $1.2 million verdict caused by a surgical error where a podiatric surgery worsened foot, the patient claimed (Floresv. Makower). In Verdicts Search’s Top NY Verdicts of 2013 annual report, Burns & Harris won nine (9) of the highlighted verdicts. The nine jury verdicts totaled over $6.6 million and were among the top verdicts by category in 2013. The verdicts were regarding cases involving Intentional Torts, MotorVehicleAccident(Sideswipe), Premises Liability,Premises Liability (Negligent Repair/Maintenance), and Premises Liability(Public Property).Four of these verdicts resulted in over $1 million and continues to demonstrate Burns & Harris’ continued ability to win significant verdicts at trial year after year. The 2013 verdicts include a $2 million jury verdict in a case arising from a landlord ignoring a dangerous situation with dimly lit stairs, tenant alleged (DeJesus v. Hunts Point Housing Development fund Corp.); a $1.8 million jury verdict due to a ramp’s grade and lack of railings causing a hazard, plaintiff claimed (Waring v. Sunrise Yonkers SL, LLC); a $1.1 million jury verdict due to a homeowner & real estate company ignoring a down “For Sale” sign, plaintiff alleged (Robinson v. The verdicts were regarding cases involving Motor Vehicle Accidents (Left/Right Turn), Motor Vehicle Accidents (Passenger), Motor Vehicle Accident (Pedestrian), and Premises Liability (Negligent Repair/Maintenance).These verdicts resulted in significant wins and continues to demonstrate Burns & Harris’ continued ability to win significant verdicts at trial year after year. The 2014 verdicts include a $1.9 million jury verdict in a case arising from a landlord ignoring a broken shower, apartment’s tenant claimed (Floydv. 1710 Realty, LLC); a $800,000 verdict caused by a truck accident leading to seizures, back pain, plaintiff claimed (Cintron-Falcon v. NYC); and a $675,000 verdict in a case arising from motorist’s hasty left turn causing accident, plaintiff claimed (Hardy v. SeniorCare Emergency Medical Services Inc.).
